The Hummingbirds
The Hummingbirds association was founded at the end of 2011 at the initiative of parents of vitally endangered children with the aim of ensuring and improving basic living conditions. It is a humanitarian non-profit association which currently has about fifty members. It is the core task of the Association, organizing charitable actions and other humanitarian activities to raise the funds needed to purchase supplies and medicines to cover the cost of treatments.
Hummingbirds are life-threatening children of various medical diagnoses. Most children can’t talk, move, breathe independently and are dependent on life-giving appliances and 24-hour parental care. Unfortunately, some Hummingbirds have lost a battle for their lives.
Throughout the Association parents exchange experiences and try to help each other with advice about achieving their rights. In addition, moral and friendly support is invaluable. The association has no room, and the parents are very active in a social networking group.
Their slogan is “I’m also a child”, and the Association is trying to awaken citizens’ consciousness that in front of the diagnosis on first place is always a child.
